Methods for Developing Vocal Competences in Early School-Age Children Outline of Laboratory Tests

Abstract

The article presents part of the research conducted as part of the preparation of the doctoral dissertation. The scope of the research included the topic of vocal education of children aged 6–7 and the working methods used by teachers in teaching songs at the first level of education. The research took place in the 2021/2022 school year, with the participation of 16 teachers and 205 students (their pupils) of the first grades of heritage schools in the Silesian Voivodeship. The research aimed to learn and examine methods of teaching songs in the first grade of primary schools and to every extent to which these methods are recognized in the development of children’s vocal skills. The article presents the assumptions and course of the research, along with the results of its part – the study of key students. In addition, the tool used in the second source – the teacher survey – was described, i.e. the Song Teaching Diary, which is an original way of the teaching process, including methods of working with students obtained by teachers who received shares in the source. The article describes some of the research carried out and reports the results obtained at its first stages. The final results will be presented in the doctoral dissertation.
