Karolina Majkowska teaches at the UMCS (department of the Applied Linguistics). In 2017 she received her Ph.D. from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (dissertation entitled “The Space In Between. Diaspora and Neobaroque in the Works of Junot Díaz”). She has participated in numerous conferences in Poland and abroad and has published articles on Caribbean-American literature, including: „The Dominican Republic as a Wild Zone in The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz”, „Non-Reading of America in Edwidge Danticat’s Krik? Krak!”, and „Science fiction and the experience of exile in works by Junot Díaz”. Her research interests include Caribbean-American literature, media and translation.
