Giorgio Sale obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (D.E.A. - Diplôme d’études approfondies) at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Sorbonne Nouvelle, France, in 1994, and a Ph.D. in French Literature at the University of Milan, Italy, in 1998. He held a post-doctoral research position at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature of the University of Sassari (1998-2000), and subsequently became Lecturer in French Literature in the same faculty. He's currently Lecturer in French Literature at the Department of History, Humanities and Education
His research interests concern the French literary production of the 17th century (Molière, Thomas Corneille, Saint-Réal, Madame de Villedieu, Hortense and Marie Mancini,Charles Sorel, the mémoires, literary onomastics), the French and Francophone novel of the 20th century (Marguerite Yourcenar, Anne Hébert, Marguerite Duras, Hubert Haddad, Philippe Claudel), and aspects of 16th-century, 19th-century and 21th-century French fiction.
