Аннотация

In general, liberal arts education for medicine/dental students tends to decline across the world. One of the main reasons is that current liberal arts educational system does not always adapt to the changing social needs and most students do not feel the necessity of mastering liberal arts subjects. This paper presents the case of dental school of Health Sciences University of Hokkaido in Japan, analyzes the most ideal concept of liberal arts education (that is currently being implemented), and demonstrates our reform efforts in liberal arts education.
