CHINA’S ENERGY STRATEGY TO CENTRAL ASIA – IMPLICATIONS FOR EUROPE

Abstract

After the fall of the Soviet Union there emerged the possibility of opening new energy connections between Central Asia and Europe, South Asia and East Asia. Today Central Asia is important for Chins’ policy of protecting long-term energy supplies. It also creates many opportunities to restore continental trade and transit routes. China competes with Europe in different fi elds, especially those related to securing access to regional energy resources and supply routes.
