Witold Jarno (born in 1970) – associate professor, doctor habilitatus, employed in the Department of Polish and World History after 1945 at the Institute of History of the University of Łódź. Graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy and History (1994) and Faculty of Law and Administration (1998) of the University of Łódź. The main fields of his scientific interests are the history of Poland and the history of the Polish military in the 20th century. He is the author of many articles and monographs on this subject: Okręg Korpusu Wojska Polskiego nr IV Łódź 1918–1939 (Łódź 2001); Okręg Generalny Wojska Polskiego nr III Kielce w latach 1918–1921 (Łódź 2003); Strzelcy Kaniowscy w latach 1919–1939 (Warszawa 2004); 1 Dywizja Strzelców Armii Generała Hallera w latach 1918–1919 (Łódź 2006); Garnizon Łódzki Wojska Polskiego 1918–1939 (Toruń 2008, co-author); Terytorialne władze wojskowe w Polsce w latach 1945–1949.
