Jiří Friedl – PhD, professor of history in the Institute of Ethnology and Central European and Balkan Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague. He deals with the recent history of Poland and Czech/Czechoslovak-Polish relations in the 20th century, ethnic relations in Teschen Silesia and the history of the Czechoslovak resistance movement during World War II. He is the author of several monographs, also translated into Polish, and numerous scientific articles. He recently published the book Domů, a za svobodou. Role Československa v migracích obyvatel Polska v letech 1945-1948 (Praha 2020, Polish edition appeared in 2023), which received the main Wacław Felczak’s and Henryk Wereszycki’s Prize.
